Sports at Palewell Common & Fields
Palewell Common and Fields is a large site with a nine-hole pitch and putt course, tennis courts, facilities for cricket and football and a Pétanque Piste which is free play. The site is flanked by Richmond Park and the Bank of England Sports Ground, the Common is well away from the noise of traffic.
Pitch & Putt
We have facilities for a wide range of sports on Palewell Common
The course is divided in two by the Beverley Brook. A footbridge takes you from one side to the other. The holes are all at least 80 yards long, and several of the greens are guarded by sand bunkers. A pond provides an additional hazard on the 9th hole, and the Beverley Brook itself captures any hooked drives from the eighth tee
Pétanque (Boules)
In summer there are regular boules sessions at Palewell Common on every second Sunday and Friday at 2.00 pm. All are welcome to join in and learn the game. For further information about dates and times, please contact John Hockley on 88782980. You will find the pitch in the dog-free area behind the golf hut and it's use is for free.
